Emily has held a passion for politics since the fifth grade, when she aspired to be the second female president. (She assumed that someone would beat her to being the first.) While studying Global Leadership at Huntingdon College, she had the opportunity to intern for the U.S. House of Representatives. Slightly put off by the “politics as usual” mindset of D.C., she realized that running for office was not the only way to make a difference. She then worked with several nonprofit organizations and a defense contractor before she received her MBA from Rollins College. Facing a dismal job market upon graduation, she decided to pursue freelance writing and realized how much she loved it. Emily also enjoys marketing, social entrepreneurship, attempting to cook, and traveling around the world.
