One day after the brutal murder of American journalist James Foley, the Obama administration is sharing new information on how U.S. Special Forces made an attempt to rescue Foley and other Americans being held by ISIS.

Fox News reports:

Senior Obama administration officials say the U.S. military launched a secret mission earlier this summer to rescue a number of Americans held captive by militants in Syria but failed to find them.

According to CNN, the teams sent in to rescue Foley and other Americans were on the same level as SEAL Team Six and Delta Force. When the teams reached the site, they did end up in a firefight with ISIS and killed many of  the terrorists. Unfortunately, the hostages were not present at the site as was expected.

As ISIS is holding more Americans hostage, we can only hope that the response from the United States is strong enough to make a difference. Because these terrorists need to be stopped once and for all.
