Gov. Jindal To Hannity: Obama Told Governors He Doesn’t Trust The States

Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity Thursday that President Barack Obama told him — along with other governors, both Republican and Democrat — he doesn’t trust them to protect their own people:

“When we met with him as governors, I asked him, why don’t you give the states more influence on accrediting higher education, to bring more competition in the marketplace?”

Jindal went on to make this astonishing claim:

“Here’s the insulting thing: In a room full of Democratic and Republican governors, basically, in so many words he said, ‘We can’t trust states. We can’t trust governors to protect their own people.'”

I’ll go out on a limb and bet that Obama would deny ever making such a statement. However, given the administration’s track record of suing states over everything from voter ID laws, to immigration laws to union issues, I gotta believe Bobby Jindal on this one.
