Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-Penn.) said in an interview on “MSNBC Live” Friday that tens of millions of Americans losing their health insurance policies because of ObamaCare regulations is “a good thing.”
“They have immense deductibles. They have annual and lifetime caps. There’s so many people out there with what I call phony insurance policies, and the fact that they’re going to lose those policies, sooner or later, I think is a good thing. Because what we’re up to here is we are strengthening the healthcare system in this country.”
Cartwright’s comments were as absurd and irresponsible as they were arrogant. Unsubstantiated generalizations about “immense deductibles” and “phony insurance policies,” coupled with the assertion that it is the government – and the government only – who can, and should, decide what is an appropriate healthcare policy and what is not – for every one of America’s 317 million citizens – is as good an illustration of how Democrats view government, our nation, and its people as you’ll see today.
