A Washington Post/ABC News poll finds that moderate Democrats are losing confidence in Obamacare, even as liberal Democrats continue to find it in high favor.
Among liberal Democrats, support has plateaued at 78% since early 2012, but among moderate Democrats, support has continuously declined from a high of 76% in 2009, to a startling 47%. This could have devastating consequences for the Democrat party in the mid-term elections, as many races hinge upon the popular opinion of Obamacare.
Republicans are looking to recapture the Senate this election cycle, as many more vulnerable Democrat seats are up than GOP seats. Fueling this disapproval may be the stalled implementation of Obamacare just announced this last month, and indications that many Americans may face much higher insurance premiums, contrary to Obama’s promises.
