Bette Midler: Hey, If We Had Lost Revolutionary War, We'd Have Universal Healthcare!
Just in case you missed it, Bette Midler has a different take on the whole Independence Day thing. On Planet Midler, we’d be better off today had we lost the Revolutionary War. Why, you ask? Universal healthcare.
While you went to picnics, watched fireworks, hung out with family and friends and celebrated the Fourth of July, the Divine Miss M was ruminating on what might have been – had the Red Coats only kicked the Revolutionaries’ butts 230 years ago.
Yes, America, had King George III prevailed, we may not be going to picnics, watching fireworks and lighting sparklers every fourth day of July, but we would have the equivalent of the UK’s National Health Service instead.
But hey, Bette – all is not lost. We may not have George III – but we do have Barack I. And, our “king” has 3 1/2 years left to convince us of the wonders of ObamaCare. Even if he has to use indoctrinated childen to do it. Chin up, M.
