Gitmo Prisoners Refuse Gym Equipment Made By ‘US Infidels’

MSNBC says Gitmo prisoners are subjected to “horrific racial violence in the name of national security.” Obama laments, in response to their ongoing hunger strike: “I don’t want these individuals to die.”

So how did things get to such an “untenable point” point at Guantanamo Bay?

A few years ago, as reported by nypost.com, detainees got so fat from overeating hummus and other special dishes from the camp’s Islamically-correct menu that commanders ordered treadmills to help them lose weight. (As opposed to beheading them. Given that the average head only weighs 10 pounds, officials decided the weight loss would be insufficient.)

“Even the hunger strikers were gaining weight because of all the food – so we go out and buy all this exercise equipment and throw it in the rec yard,” a Gitmo official said of a 2007 requisition.

There was just one problem. The detainees refused to use the treadmills. Because they weren’t made by Muslims. Seriously.

“Within the first week, there were guys saying, ‘Hey, this stuff is made in the US – made by infidels – and we’re not going to use it.’”

So what did the commanders do?

“We took all of that s–t out – gave it to the soldiers to use, and bought them equipment that was made in a Muslim part of the world.”

In the understatement of the century, one official called Gitmo detainees “some of the most pampered prisoners on the planet.”

“They get as many as four choices of halal meals and have access to a new $750,000 soccer field. Islamic prayer beads and rugs are now “standard issue. They get their choice of more than 10,000 Islamic books and videos stocked by a Muslim librarian, who also records soccer and Arabic TV for them. They even have their own clerics to preach to them in Arabic.”

Whenever I read a story like this, I’m inclined to ask the question: “How does the treatment of Gitmo detainees compare or contrast with the treatment afforded US soldiers captured by al-Qaeda or the Taliban? (Hence, the satirical reference to beheading, above.) Unfair, perhaps, because we are America.

Here’s a better question: How can anyone (are you listening, lefties?) in their right mind (oops, never mind, lefties) make preposterous claims about the “inhumane treatment” – even “torture” – of these pampered people? Pampered people who would kill any and every one of us in a heartbeat if they got the chance, by the way.

As maddening as is the (re)purchase of exercise equipment made by Muslims, this is worse: Detainees even persuaded prison officials to stop raising the American flag anywhere they could see it.

Time to wake up, America.
