Tom Brokaw Slams Obama's Never-Ending Campaign
Former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw had some harsh words for the Congress and a tasty slam of the president’s never-ending campaign tour. Time for the current crop of journalists to wake up.
After dishing out a fair amount of criticism for both parties’ inability to come to agreement on basic budgeting matters, Brokaw pointed out, “The president, on the other hand, wants to demonize the Republican Party.”
He added, “I think the president, by my lights at least, spent entirely too much time in the last two weeks campaigning, in effect, out around the country, when he ought to have been, maybe, at Camp David.”
The MSNBC banner that “This is Austerity” is one of the more laughable things on television this week (and such nonsense is one reason the network’s ratings are in the tank). The idea that $44 billion in cuts to a more than $3.6 trillion budget is like, so much “austerity,” is ludicrous on its face.
