Incredible Photos: 40" Snow in Hamden, Connecticut

In case some folks sunning themselves in South Carolina didn’t notice, the notheast got hit with a blizzard. That’s putting it mildly. Before superblizzard Nemo was about to strike, I wrote online that the “prime target” happened to be my apartment in Hamden, Connecticut. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to have a hunch. As the Drudge Report noted on its frontpage, Hamden received an amazing 40″ of snow — a massive snowfall by Atlantic coastal norms.
Speaking with a member of the Hamden local government’s snowplow crew, who prefers to remain unnamed, it was the overwhelming consensus that this was the biggest snowstorm the area had ever seen. Even a seasoned plower wound up stuck in a snowed-in blind alley and blew his transmission trying to get out. It was that kind of blizzard.
