White House Tweets Snarky Remarks at 'Skeeters' Doubting Obama is Skeet-Shooter

The White House’s crack public relations staff has a none-too-subtle message for those who dare criticize the Obama administration: all of you ‘skeeters’ out there are a bunch of unhinged crackpots for second-guessing that Barack Obama is an avid skeet-shooter. Such were the snarky responses from multiple presidential advisers on Twitter that tied such ‘right-wing’ critics as CNN’s Erin Burnett to ‘birthers’ who were annoyed with the president’s initial lack of forthrightness about producing a verifiable birth certificate.
Top presidential adviser David Plouffe made a snotty tongue-in-cheek Dirty Harry reference:

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer (whose account holder sees fit to warn people that responses may be archived):
For all the “skeeters”: POTUS shoots clay targets on the range at Camp David on Aug. 4, 2012. bit.ly/WlDMYG

Alright, that’s great fellas. But no one doubted that the president ever picked up a gun to shoot at something. A scatter-shot approach of knocking down strawmen like ducks at the carnival is not really that impressive, especially coming from wunderkind who made it a priority to destroy the Republican Party after Obama’s re-election. Instead, maybe the administration should concentrate on fixing a few of the nation’s endless array of government-caused problems?
Predictably, the paleomedia joined the Obama administration in its snarkfest, Tweeting gleeful potshots at those who pointed out the president appears to be shooting too low for a live skeet target. Oh, well, who gives a rat’s ass? asks Politico’s Glenn Thrush, who apparently believes the administration’s talking points in furtherance of a gun control agenda interests only right-wing nuts.
Regardless of the administration’s intended tone, political commentator TJ Thompson had a few wild guesses at what President Obama was actually shooting at in this smoking gun photo (and has invited readers to Tweet him their own conspiracy theories):
Comment below: what was President Obama shooting at in this gun photo?
