The first family took a break from their berating the American people about their unhealthy diets to woof down a 3,000-calorie inaugural lunch.
A sample of the entrees, not including any amuse-bouche that might have been on the menu:
The first course is lobster tails in a New England clam chowder sauce. The second course is bison with a red potato horseradish cake. The dessert is apple pie with sour cream ice cream.
Seems absolutely delicious, assuming that real butter was used for the lobster sauce.Wouldn’t mind breaking bread at the luncheon myself, perhaps with a fine American brew. I’m sure the president and first lady would have plenty to eyeroll about if we had struck up a convo.
So you know what? Good for them. No one should begrudge anyone the right to eat as they choose, as long as they suffer the consequences for it.
Yet the way the first lady in particular has bullied schoolchildren and even Olympic athletes to eat healthier is annoying enough. It’s simply unacceptable behavior coming from people who have been spotted numerous times eating pizza, burgers, ice cream, and drinking beer in public. We’re not talking about splurging either, we are talking habitually. And high cholesterol lobster happens to be one of the Obamas’ favorite dishes.
Again, that’s all well and dandy if you keep your piehole closed about telling other people what to do with their own bodies. Advice is one thing, lecturing and spending taxpayer money on nagging PSAs is quite another. Just eat and enjoy life, already. Exercise if you need to. We don’t need a public crusade for commonsense. Then again…
