Historians will look back on the Obama administration and pinpoint the one scandal that had the potential to take the entire media  and the Washington political establishment down. It will become known as the “Beyoncé Lip-Syncing Scandal of 2013.”

Forget Watergate, Fast & Furious, or Benghazi. Obama campaign fundraiser and vocalist Beyoncé was busted lip-syncing to the Star Spangled Banner. This is slightly eyebrow-raising coming out of a pop superstar who is also slated to perform at the half-time of the Super Bowl. One would think that any professional singer could perform a stirring recorded version of the national anthem, so why Beyoncé?

In all seriousness, it’s not really that important if Beyoncé lip-synced the lyrics or not. She has a great singing voice and is a wildly successful pop diva. The more important question: did President Obama lip-sync his Oath of Office? I guess we’ll find out over the next four years.
