Senator Chuck Schumer: NRA an Extremist 'Fringe Group'
Kyle Becker | On 21, Jan 2013
Senator Chuck Schumer blasted the NRA as a “very extreme group” that doesn’t even “represent average gun owners.” He took it a step further and told the left-leaning Huffington Post that the NRA is a “fringe group,” even though it boasts somewhere between 3 million and 4.25 million members. According to US News, this “fringe group” saw a membership increase of 250,000 in one month.
As we saw with the broad-based tea party movement, it doesn’t matter how many Americans stand up for Constitutional rights as embodied in the law of the land, the hard left will continue to call anyone “extremist” that doesn’t go along with their statist agenda. Politicians are limited by the Constitution, including the Second Amendment; and it is actually extremist to suggest otherwise.
If the Democrat Party wants to test who really is “extremist,” let’s put repealing the Second Amendment up for a referendum vote. Elitists may think they can shred it by a thousand papercuts and people won’t notice, but they are severely mistaken.
