Another DHS lawsuit: POTUS illegal immigration executive orders break the law

The Department of Homeland Security’s attorneys must be getting a run for their money these days, as they are now involved with yet another lawsuit. While this suit has nothing to do with sex-discrimination and male humiliation in the workplace (like the last one), this one is in regards to the Obama administration’s executive order to bar ICE from doing their jobs to apprehend illegal immigrants. The lawsuit was filed Thursday by 10 ICE officers. The Daily Caller has the story:
The suit, filed in federal court in Dallas, Texas, challenges the administration’s June 15th deferred action directive which instructed ICE agents not to arrest certain illegal immigrants for deportation and facilitate the granting of work permits for some directive beneficiaries.”
The frustration level with the Obama administration must be coming to a head, as the White House is spending more time in court than anything else. So what is the rationale of these 10 hooligans that are suing their Boss-in-Chief? It’s actually pretty sound reasoning:
We are federal law enforcement officers who are being ordered to break the law. This directive puts ICE agents and officers in a horrible position,” President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council and former ICE agent Chris Crane said in a statement.”
Ah, so it seems that ICE agents feel that they don’t as much serve the whimsical directives of the POTUS, as they do serve the American taxpayer, US law, and legislation. What a revolutionary idea?!
This is one of the Obama administration’s most notorious problems: they have made enemies with the legislative branch since day one in office. Barack Obama has unilaterally made huge decisions in the form of executive orders and executive ‘privileges’, blatantly defying the orders of Congress (which totally steps outside the bounds of the purpose of the Executive branch).
The Directive is an extension of the DREAM Act, which was rejected by Congress, and aims to grant an amnesty to 1.7 million illegal aliens,” Kobach said. “It violates federal immigration laws that require certain
aliens to be placed in removal proceedings, it violates the Administrative Procedure Act, and it encroaches upon the legislative powers of Congress as defined in Article I of the United States Constitution.”
Simply put …you, the voter, elected your legislators, but Obama uses his White House departments to totally defy the legislators and the laws they make, thereby flipping you a giant, presidential bird.
However, lawmakers can flip one back on your behalf:
Republican lawmakers came out in support of the lawsuit Thursday, including Texas Reps. Louie Gohmert, John Carter and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith.”
Welcome to America, Mr. President.
